Another Story
Bookshop sells a broad range of literature for
children, young adults, and
adults, with a focus on themes of social
justice, equity, and diversity. We
are a proudly independent
bookstore with over twenty years of history and a
commitment
to providing quality customer service.
Selection:
While we do carry the latest best-sellers and popular books,
we strive to
bring our customers the best of international fiction,
political non-fiction,
and alternative children’s and young adult
literature. We carry thousands
of titles from small and independent
presses, and encourage our clientele to
explore the titles that they
may not have heard about in the weekend book reviews.
Community:
Community participation and involvement is the cornerstone
of our
business. In-store,
we prominently display local authors and regularly
hold book readings and launches
that highlight local talent. See our
events page for a list of
upcoming happenings in and around the store.
Activism:
In many ways, we wear our politics on our sleeve. We regularly host
book tables for unions, school boards, and non-governmental
organizations, and we hold an annual Christmas wrapping drive
to raise money for Parkdale Activity - Recreation Centre.
Appreciation:
As a bonus to customers who shop at the store, we offer
rewards in the
form of a frequent buyer program. If you spend $200 at the store,
we will give you $10 back in store credit. There are no cards, no fees,
and anyone can join. Ask us how!
